Will they allow me if I have self harm scars?

Do the doctors know about you self harming? Ie on your medical records? Or just worried they’ll ask when they see them?

Any advice for mindset when injured?

The yompers: about marines in the falklands but talks about what the other services are doing, read this before starting Rt, it helped, not an easy read because it’s a lot of facts not writing from a first person perspective. Broke my rib a month before Rt, didn’t think to tell AFCO because I’d...

Any advice for mindset when injured?

Just use this time to gain skills valuable at ctc, ie corp history, Afghan, falklands etc Got out of many a reparade at 8pm from the DL’s because I knew corp history. Even used to read it during the drill breaks on the back of the drill shed wall.

Dealing with being in hunter long term.

Know a few lads that had this approach, not sure if they’ll rejoin, they miss the lads. But that’s from spending a year in hunter with the lads. Ask him how the thought of redoing foundation and hunters moon makes him feel, Will most likely get his head back in the game because he’ll think f*text deleted**...

Dealing with being in hunter long term.

Personally I’ve seen YO’s in rehab with us lads in Parker hall, they had to wait to rejoin a new batch. It’s a case by case basis depending on the injury.

Cpl On a training team question time II

Only replying because the corporals probably busy. Most teaches are done as a whole troop. But your section corporal will ask you sometimes what do you need help/reteach with before an exercise. Most times it’s a map reteach. Also most times it’s your section corporal who inspects you.

Cpl On a training team question time II

Dirty weapon, i.e make sure you’ve pulled your barrel through and no rust etc Sustainability: make sure you can prove you’ve eaten all your food(keep rubbish in a bag) and water bottles are full. Shows you can keep yourself going and fire your weapon because it’s clean. The main thing they care...

    Need help with press-ups?

Pt 2 If you can complete all these and max out. Start the program all over again with a weight vest, with your new max score with weight vest on. I liked this plan because I didn’t have a weight vest at the time.

Returning from leave - Thinking of wrapping? Don't!

At the start £800 after tax and bills(paying for food and accommodation) per month, after 6 months it increases to around £1000 a month

Returning from leave - Thinking of wrapping? Don't!

From my experience, they let you go to town the weekend before an exercise even if it’s not a full day to buy plastic bags, or other pointless stuff from the kit shop. As for long weekends they’ve been covered earlier and only get a few of them throughout training. Ps being told you have a...

    Passed my Interview.

Like any interview, learn about the job, examples, units, where they are what are they currently doing, lead Commando, how long is recruit training. Corp history dates, vc recipients etc. Just shows you’re committed by actually learning. Also a bit about yourself, why you want to join, jobs...

    Am I mad

At the end of the day your kid will always be your kid, but your misses doesn’t have to be. If she loves you, she’ll support you no matter what you do, if she doesn’t move on.

    free time in training?

Most lads start OP Massive once they finish RT, taking up crossfit and/or powerlifting during free time at unit. The PTI’s look massive and say they don’t do curls, most do crossfit and compete together.

    free time in training?

Or compromise and do pull ups, they have pull up bars in most accommodations at lympstone, and that exercise is crucial for the whole of Rt ie in the gym, bottom field. However as mentioned before, you’ll probably be to sore or doing other things to worry about pull ups unless you get injured or...

    Chronic Exertional compartment syndrome... 2020

Throw in my two pence on this. I was NFA’ed 2019 with bilateral chronic exertional compartment syndrome. I started RT in 2017, my symptoms where painful calves then feet and legs got numb and struggle to keep up at yomping pace, resulting in having to slow down or even stop. kept me in hunter 1...

Official reason Hunter 3 was binned?

seems like there has been a lot of change in the corps these last few years and coming in the foreseeable future with other threads posted about changes on here. Some for the better or worse. Im sure that the reason lads join will still remain the same, along with the corp having the same...

Official reason Hunter 3 was binned?

This is dependent on what week of training, a week 5 only has to pass Alpha’s, week 14 Alphas and Charlie’s, phase 2 all tests

Official reason Hunter 3 was binned?

Just wondering why hunter 3 got binned, for me personally it was the best thing to happen to me in recruit training, due to the standards being so high compared to a recruit troop, that after my stint in H3 I didn’t fail a locker inspection. Personally loosing hunter 3 is detrimental to...
