Could you guys give a rough idea of how you set up your vPJFT? Where did you put your phone, I.e. was it ground level, higher, facing your front or side? Etc.

My son has just passed vPJFT this afternoon.

We used two iPhones, one on a tripod for the link to the assessor, showing the activity area with a side-on view of my son when carrying out the activities. The second was connected by Bluetooth to a speaker to have enough volume for my son to hear and the assessor.

Had to make a shade though for the phones as it was extremely hot in our garden and I was scared the phone would shut down due to overheating.

Sound check carried out with the Cpl and he did a could of reps of each exercise first to confirm correct methods used.

Just waiting for a date to get rid of him now.

I believe you can do it on one phone, but I am a technophobe so don’t know how. The brief recommends you do have a backup source readily available in case of a problem, hence I kept the communication with the assessor on zoom, separate from the audio track.

He is 20 and has taken 3 years to get here after PMU appeal for an ACL injury and then TMU for 18 months for being underweight, I suspect I was more nervous than him but he had worked hard using the vPJFT audio tracks which are great to work with.

@Saracen1 Huge congrats to your lad and to you!

For all those dripping about the length of time it takes to get through the recruitment process, take note!

Three years, that is the sort of dedication and burning desire you need to get a green lid.

All the best for your RT

The advice many give on this forum about the ‘right’ age to join is so true.

He wanted to get in early and applied at 16. The set backs however meant he is now more mature, physically stronger, has been working in a public facing job to Assistant Manager level which also means if ROP or RT doesn’t work out, for whatever reason, he does have a fall back career.

Im doing my vPJFT before medical - failed at triage and successfully appealed. Medical was booked literally the day they stopped doing them!

Word is medicals should be starting very soon - the issue seems to be sourcing enough PPE for the doctors performing them. Hopefully will be sorted soon.
