To confirm what LC says:

1. You can take water if the gym deem it safe to use whilst on the treadmill

2. An MP3 is perfectly acceptable, a Bechstein Grand Piano is considered excessive however.

To save money, you can always ask the fitness instructor at the gym to sing to you if it helps or simply turn up the endless-loop tape of "Eye of the Tiger".

3. As stated, water is taken on before & after the run.

Good luck.

Hey dude, im a fitness instructor nd have done a fair few PJFT's and have never stopped or have seen anyone stop anyone having water, it would be a mistake no to as people need to be hydrated, there no rule saying you cant. If you *text deleted* listen to a MP3 likewise you should be able to with no problems.

Yep, the gym will usually allow you to warm up & set the treadmill on the minimum constant speed to achieve a pass. You will be shown how to increase/decrease the speed as you run.
