dont know if this might help you bud. but when i used to play rugby and when i do cardio in the morning, after ive stretched out i always scrape my nuckles down my shins (not voilently like haha just enough so * can feel it on the bone but it DOES NOT cause any dis-comfort, and dont press on too hard. Kinda like in the middle - not too hard and not too soft). i Do it on both legs everytime i stretch before/after exercise. Apparently it stops or at least reduces the chance of shin splints.
and Ive never had any. maybe its because of doing this but maybe it isnt but worth giving it a go.
