Aircrew

hey guys,

i want to become aircrew in the RM. what are the chances of becoming aircrew in the RM as i haven't heard/seen many or any at all to be honest. anyone got any information on it?

Alright mate!

When you say aircrew do you mean jets or Helos ? i assume you mean Helos because i think theres only 2 maybe 3 RM fighter pilots in the corp and there all officers i think try this link if youre interested http://www.seayourhistory.org.uk/content/view/463/621/

You have to be an officer to be a pilot in any of the forces but you can apparently fly a helicopter in the army without having to be an officer but enough about that because this is a RM forum.

And yes aircrewman is available as a specialisation in the marines.

Aircrewman

As an Aircrewman, you will fly on board the helicopters of the Commando Naval Air Squadrons. Trained to operate by day or night, and in all conditions, you will carry out important missions from reconnaissance to helping transport troops or supplies to the front line.

takes the piss *text deleted* that officer is pilot, as officers role is to lead and control people. But obviously the powers that be dictate what happens...

But the chance of becoming aircrew? depends on your capabilities *text deleted*, if you show good enough merit and determination, i dont think there will be a problem.
