Hi Guys

Just wanted to find out if the AFCO's are still processing paperwork\applications at the moment ?

(Im in the early stages of applying , have filled my forms out and am ready to send them. was just wondering if it would even be possible for the AFCO's to process them with the state of the lockdown at the moment ?)

Cheers

The simple answer is yes. The recruitment process is being adapted to meet the demands of current circumstances.

Bear in mind that inevitably there will be delays. For example, issues resulting from medical examinations will take longer to resolve because service medical specialists are also engaged in work other than supporting recruitment.

Pure speculation from me: when the current public health emergency is contained there might be a significant 'bounce' in recruitment figures as national employment opportunities change.

In summary, there is little to be gained from sitting on an application if one is 'fit to apply'.

Yep, just to reiterate the above, for UK residents, applications are still being processed and recruit troops are still entering training. Overseas recruitment is paused, however until further notice due to C-19 restrictions.

Thanks Chelonian & Ninja. I actually am an overseas applicant , so I will put it on hold for now untill they let us apply again.

Keen to get started , so hopefully this virus doesn't get any worse and we hear word soon :).

When did you last have communications with the overseas desk?

I just contacted the data processing centre and they advised overseas applications are still being processed, albeit at a slow pace.

I was last in contact with them in late March. When they sent me the necessary forms to fill-out (Medical Questionnaire. Copies of all my personal documents.etc)

All of which I have completed. I just need to mail it back to the London Overseas AFCO , but havent yet due to the lockdown.

If I can mail\courier my forms so long would you recommend doing so ?

Would be great if I can get the process moving again even if they are taking a while to process.

Sorry to hijack the thread.

I wondered if anyone knows what the outcome of the VPJFT trial were/ are? Or if it’s still ongoing.

My advice is return the completed paperwork as soon as possible so that your application is hopefully processed ahead of those that join the backlog queue.

I'd also advise you to keep hard & digital copies of everything you send... Just in case.

If you apply now how far into the application can you currently get giving the circumstances is it just the triage call?
Just checking as I’ve been told if I re open my application I’ll be at medical stage which is face to face.

At present that is where the process stops as F2F is not yet up and running again and a large backlog in the system.

Assuming you mean the online request for app....

I put in my request for the app a few weeks back, heard nothing but gave it a minute as figured it was covid backlog. Gave the number a call yesterday just to check and the girl said it's common enough the site just doesn't work and app docs don't get sent. She then sent it to me and got them filled and sent off.

Give the number a call and they'll be able to help you out.

Ok, so your "AFCO" is known as the overseas desk , they are currently working g through what they have so may be some time contacting you , so bear with it and in nothing by the months end it may be worthotics asking at that point, I am not sure how aware you are of the impact on day to day working COVID 19 has had in the UK but it is major and has slowed things down quite a bit!!
