Hi,
I know that In the regular marines they have all different types of units and have 42 commando etc. After passing training and getting your beret would you then get put into a unit like 42 for example or is it completely different.

Any help would be great? Sorry if i just asked a stupid question...

My understanding is that RMR commandos supplement existing units on deployments, but spread out so that the vast majority of a unit is still regulars.

Yes. You pass out of training and go to your assigned unit.

For the RMR, you are with your RMR Detachment, then for a deployment, get “upgraded” to the required unit and take a billet with said unit.
