So if you start RT and you get bad blisters say week 3, I know you can try to crack on but what happens? Will you get put in hunter company if you keep getting blisters to see if they can fix the issue? Or do you get back trooped? Can you get sent to a specialist to see why you keep getting them or would the marines rather not do this? Can they medically discharge you ?

Doubt you'll be huntered or backtrooped unless you fail some tested criteria. Just tape them up, put a second skin plaster on and grit your teeth.

You'll have had time since PRMC to harden your feet up and break your boots in so there's not really an excuse. Get the blisters now, push on through them, keep up the work and RT should be blister free!

I doubt that blisters would get you huntered, I think it'd be a case of the training team and your oppo's telling you to man up. Take a sterilised needle, pop the blisters, plaster them up, and crack on.

I have seen people get backtrooped for blisters but only if they're infected.

Most people get blisters to start with. Also I think if you keep on getting nasty blisters you can get issued gucci boots.

I used to get them quite bad but I was told by a mate of mine who's a Cpl in the Army if I get blisters to pee on my feet in the shower, apparently the ammonia hardens your skin or something.
I tried it a few times and I've not had any blisters since, even with gash boots.

Try walking around the house in bare feet more too, the skin will adapt and toughen mate. It all helps.

On the hardening of feet... if you're really concerned about blisters you can bath your feet in surgical spirits for 3 or 4 minutes a day and it will harden the skin.... it's also really cheap as well about 4 quid a bottle in boots... and you only need a shallow pool so the bottom of your feet are covered :)

Can you get issued better boots if your feet get shot or of the blisters get infected?

The best anti-blister remedy I ever heard was from a mate of mine who was in the SAS (Course he denied it, but he claimed to have passed selection but lost his nerve at the last second (Bull*text deleted**text deleted*)).

You put foot powder over your feet and some in your sock before cutting some zinc oxide tape strips that will cover the areas across the ball and heel of your feet.

Here?s the important part: Lay the pieces of tape on the floor in the rough locations of where your blister sites would be if your foot was flat on the floor. Then, keeping your foot flat, place your foot on the tape and stick the strips to your foot.

You have to lay the tape on the floor because if you stick it on directly you will tape your foot to tight for when your foot is flat and it will be uncomfortable when you start yomping.
You can use smaller strips to put some on your toes as well.

My mate was in the army for 22 years and never got a blister, so it?s probably pretty good method.

We received a lad in our troop who got re trooped backwards for bad blisters. He was literally unable to walk in anything apart from flip flops so he just got put in holding troop for 2 weeks and then joined us (the troop behind him). There's no 'cure' for not getting blisters, if you fail to tape your feet up and dont break your boots in properly then your going to suffer, its not a condition thats just unlucky to get, as our training team put it 'its your bad admin, and your fault, so its you who will find yourself out of the troop'. Soon enough into RT the skin on your feet, and various other parts of your body feels more like sandpaper than skin. However I have heard bathing your feet in surgical spirit is pretty handy, I've bought a bottle of it just not got round to using it yet. But yes definitely, on the marches back from exercise, if you dont tape your feet up regardless, you probably will get blisters!! Cheers
