Right i have had this shoulder injury for a while now. (got it playing rugby)
i went to a specialist and he sent me to get an MRI. Turns out i have a massive torn labrum in the right shoulder which needs surgory. :(

this has pissed me off big time!! ive just got on top of my training and really getting fit and strong, now i have been told this!! so morale is very low at the moment...

this wont effect my application will it?? apparently its not that big of an opperation.

need a morale boost! still trying to be positive!!!

yea mate that sucks i know exactly what you are going through. i had a similar shoulder operation a few years ago right when i had just started getting fit. you do loose morale over it but keep positive and keep training even when you are unable to use it. like with exercise bikes and things like that. it will get better surprisngly quick but yea just keep positive

It's not the end of the wold Lloydy, but you must inform your AFCO if you've had medical treatment after passing your AFCO medical & before entry. If you withold medical information you can be discharged without any pension rights.

The thing to do s speak to the AFCO, keep them in the picture, then you will be booked for a medical re-examination through the AFCO to confirm you are fit to enter. What you definitely don't want to do is make a fraudulent application as you can be barred from re-entering any of the services. You really don't want to start recruit training until the Medical Officer signs you off as fit to enter. If you then have a recurrence in training it's up to the RM to sort it, otherwise you just get medically discharged & cannot re-join.

Best of luck with the Op & keep focussed!
