Anyone else gambling?

A mate of mine has been going on for ages about this one horse. Ladbrokes email me last night giving me a ?5 free bet, so I put it on. Just won a nice ?50.

Collectively, he's won my friends over ?3,000! Nice tip ey? Sure he will be getting a few pints bought for him tonight.

I've put the ?50 down on Sprinter at 2.05. Will feel like an absolute moron if he doesn't come in, but oh well, not lost anything.

I'd like to think I'm fairly knowledgable on football, and I win every now and then.

On the other hand I have absolutely no knowledge of horse racing, so I tend to stay away :amuse:

I do like a good gamble from time to time.

One of my mates won ?800 on his own!

I was once offered ?10 to play roulette with by some online casino The rules were, I couldn't withdraw the money until I had laid down a ridiculous amount; something like ?4000? 4 hours later I walked away with ?220.. ?55 an hour, not bad ey?

I love my accumulators. However, that is where my hatred for Bendtner stems from.

On an international night, I had a 20 game accumulator for some silly amount like ?14,000. To my amazement, I watched on Sky Sports News as one by one each result trickled in - it got to the point where I only needed Denmark to win a friendly against some stupidly bad European team no one has heard of.

Denmark drew 0-0, and to my knowledge Bendtner missed a penalty. Not winning.

HAHA! Gutted. Just how it goes unfortunately.

What do you reckon to United, Liverpool and Real at 5/1?

Hmm. Confident of United & Real, and it's good odds, but I just have a sneaky suspicion that Everton will grab a point tonight! Sorry man haha!

Yeah, I suppose all emotion should be removed from betting. Everton in good form, Liverpool not so.

Indeed. Whenever I bet on Arsenal or Brighton, they consistently let me down.

Will be a good game tonight though.

On the other hand, I'm a huge fan of Goal Rush type bets, seem to be a lot easier to win money from.

I too had a free ?5 Ladbrokes bet. Stuck it on an outsider on the 13:30. Was leading the whole race then got crowded out and came in the middle. Would've won ?160 if it came in!

A did 50p e/w on another race, was out training so I missed it but it was called Noland and my mum said it was at the front until it took a wrong turn haha

I did another bet in the final race, it was called Cucumber Run, once again led the whole way and then.. something happened. I was watching it via the Ladbrokes video service and it kept having buffering breaks. One second it was right at the front, and then the horse just disappeared from view

And with regards to football bets, it's always the big bets that let me down. Worst was ?250 on Arsenal to beat Dynamo Kiev in 2008. I would've doubled my stake if it came off, unfortunately it didn't despite the domination they had in the game.

Worst non-bet for me was last season. Arsenal had beaten Blackpool 6:0 in the Premier League at the weekend. Midweek was the first Champions League group game of the season against FC Braga of Portugal. I said "6:0, Fabregas to score first". I went on the Ladbrokes website, entered the bet, odds of 150/1. I only wanted to stick a quid on, but minimum deposit was a fiver and I didn't want to deposit that much, as I'd be inclined to stick the whole fiver down. Fabregas netted the first goal, a penalty. Every goal after that was a sickener. I could've won ?150 or ?750, depending on how outrageous I wanted to be...

And finally, highest odds win was another Champions League group game. Was 2 or 3 seasons ago, against Olympiakos. I played it on Fifa 10 (I think, so that'd have been 2 seasons ago, and I had to use a different dump team because the Greek league wasn't on there) and the game finished 2:2 with Van Persie scoring first. So I went for 2:0, RVP to score first and won ?96 from a stake of ?5 or under. Can't quite remember...

They say our days are numbered, we're not famous any more! But scousers rule the country like we've always done before!

Over the moon with that result.

Just had a small winner, had "For Non Stop" each way, and it came third. I tell you, you can read about the horse's age, weight and wins but what it really comes down to is if it has a good name. Good names win races, stats don't!
