I have my interview Monday next week and am still debating whether to choose mountain leader or swimmer canoeist?
Or would it be better to choose general duties and then select a specialisation after that?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Cheers

Concentrate on getting though PRMC, then RT, you're perceptions may change as may your career ambitions. Good Luck.

As above, concentrate on actually getting into training first. Many people don't even make it that far let alone getting through training.

But to manage expectations, everyone becomes GD on passing out. You can only select a specialisation once you are at a unit and even that might take a while to come through.

You won’t be a GD for a long period of time at all. Unless you end up at 43 most lads will either get their chosen specialisation or get pinged within the first 9 months after passing out.

And as for SC, you don't choose them, they choose you.

    Food for thought.

During foundation atleast every other bloke was talking about how they want to be a ML, Swimmer canoeist or a Sniper. By week 4 the common consensus was Driver.

During foundation there was much talk about ML, snipers, SF selection.

By week 4 many had already chitted and gone

Tend to find that those who in RT say they will be going for SF Selection,o_O are those who never do.

Perhaps expectations would be better managed prior to enlistment if Call of Duty could only be played while laying—exhausted from sleep deprivation—in a deep, cold puddle overnight? :)

Luxury! Back when I were a nod, we had to bring our own puddles, not have them supplied for us.

Not likely, I had to scour the country soaking up rain water with a hand me down newspaper from 9 August 1987
