My offspring is on his PRMC and hasn't mentioned anything changing to what he's doing. He may of course be totally oblivious to anything going on roundabout him as is common with teenage boys.

    Folks-

Stop engaging in rumours. It’ll only stress the more anxious of nods and parents. If a decision has been made by senior officers to close CTC then it will be communicated via official channels. You will not have to come online and tap into a rumour mill.

Most of the time, ambiguity causes rumors among recruits. People then try to fill in the informational gaps. It’s unhelpful and not needed. Let’s all play our part.

    Thanks guys.

Official correspondence from the Royal Navy or Ministry of Defence.

Those not in training are advised to regularly check their recruitment portal and email account. Those in training will be told by their chain of command.

Just to echo the comment by @Johnny_Anonie and to remind everyone of the old but true phrase 'Hurry up and wait'.
It is probable that much of the Armed Services are currently in this phase. Along with everyone else.
It is nicely defined by Urban Dictionary:

There is plenty of speculation and chatter across social media platforms. But even the most credible of news from official sources is subject to change at very short notice. One example is the definitive advice last week from CTCRM that a Recruit Troop which had its Families' Day postponed (or cancelled) would still be permitted Long Weekend Leave. Apparently those Recruits were in the field and were given access to their mobile devices to contact their families to say they would be released by 1430 on Friday. Within two days Long Weekend Leave had been cancelled.

Understandably the general uncertainty is difficult for those at home but just now it is what it is. Expect the unexpected.

If they are sent home. Do you think they could be issued with a few rolls of toilet paper that won’t be getting used at CTC and much needed at home. :)

Are recruits still allowed out on the weekends?
And has anyone heard anything about Easter leave? Will recruits still be allowed on their leave during the Coronavirus?

The British Army have just suspended all face to face recruitment and recruit training. Will the Royal Marines follow the same protocol?

We are trying not to post anything other than officially verified correspondence. Until information is verifiable it remains a rumour and can cause more harm than good.

    Wait out.
