Done my shins and calves in

I went running the other day without doing a warm up,
and without stretching,
:doh:,
payed for it about 3.5 miles into a 5 mile run,
calves were killing,
and my shins were hurting a bit.

So I had yesterday off,
and went running,
I intended to do 8 miles,
2 miles in,
my calves were really hurting again,
and my shins were hurting a bit too,
so I just walked back.

Should I just not go running 'til next week and see how they are?
Or has anyone got better advice?

YEP.. Rest up mate if ther hurting, I get the same problem sometimes too.
ALWAYS stretch calves before n after ya run.... run a cold shower over your legs or use ice and compression for shin splints. But yeh rest most important thing!
