11th November PRMC

Right, under 5 weeks to go and my fitness looks something like this;

1.5 mile road run - 9.17
3.0 mile road run - 21.43
4.0 mile road run - 29.30
6.0 mile road run - 47.29

I feel for each of these runs, I wasn't pushing myself hard enough but yes they were all very tough for myself.

Consecutive Push Ups - 47

I haven't tried out max pull ups latley. I should do as that's by far my biggest weakness but situps I do all the time just that I haven't scored them yet.
Counting down, it's now week 4 you could say. By week 1 the scores should be knocked down if I train hard enough.

mine look something like this;

personal best so far on

1.5 miles - 8:27
2 miles - 12:00
3 miles - 19:52
6 miles - 45ish

Pressups (2mins) - 67 personal best
Pullups (2mins) - on a bar the same as the marines one 12
Situps (2mins) - 78
Bleeptest VO2max - level 12 last time i did it

i'd like to get into the lower 19s for the 13miler just so i can take the warm up (or 'extra phys' more like) they dish out and then still perform

My scores:

As of this morning, I did a 5 mile run, followed up with a practice at the 3 miler. (was spontaneous as I was feeling pretty good)

Did 1.5 miles in 11.10 and second 1.5 in 9.34, though when I have done this without the 5 miles before hand I have done it in just over 9 minutes, yet to get under 9 though and that is my ambition.

Then I managed 33 push ups, I am really struggling with these.

80+ sit ups lost count but it was over 80 and definitley not 90

6 pull ups (though without the pressups, run and sit-ups before hand I have maxed at 9. No that, that really counts as I will have the bleep test and sit-ups and press ups prior to these on PRMC so it was a fairly accurate relection of what I might get I reckon.)

Not the greatest scores, but I am pretty pleased with them.

Do you think it is enough to pass though?

I've got my prmc on the 4th november and the max push ups I've ever done in 2min is 39. On my sheet from the afco there was a highlighted line after 33 push ups so that should be alright. My cousin is in week 12ish of training and on his prmc he did 43ish (low 40s) press ups and think 55 situps.

Seriosuly, after 33? what does that mean? if I score below is that an auto fail? I thought target was 60. What sheet is this from the afco fella? I havent got one. Does it have any other scores on there?

the score are as follows,

Vo2 bleep test- 9.5 = 1 press-ups- 19 or less = 1
9.6-9.9 = 2 20-25 = 2
10-10.9 = 3 26-32 = 3
11-11.8 = 4 33-40 = 4
11.9-12.6 = 5 41-50 = 5
12.7-13 = 6 51-60 = 6

sit-ups- 25 or less = 1 pull-ups- 1 = 1
26-32 = 2 2 = 2
33-40 = 3 3 = 3
41-50 = 4 4 = 4
51-65 = 5 5 = 5
66-80 = 6 6 = 6

a score of more then 17 is needed, a level of 4 points is needed in all parts for you not be put in the red area, also you need 5 in one discipline but aim for maximum if not more and do the sets the way you will down there, for example do the bleep test then press-ups then sit-ups and finally pull-ups it will give you a good indication of where you are and what you will need to work on, hope this helps and if you are not able to do the bleep test do your normal 3 mile run in good time then attack the circuit straight away.

9.5 = 1
9.6-9.9 = 2
10-10.9 = 3
11-11.8 = 4
11.9-12.6 = 5
12.7-13 = 6

press-ups
19 or less = 1
20-25 = 2
26-32 = 3
33-40 = 4
41-50 = 5
51-60 = 6

sit-ups
25 or less = 1
26-32 = 2
33-40 = 3
41-50 = 4
51-65 = 5
66-80 = 6

pull-ups

ouch. Best make sure I get up a couple more before the day. If your put in the red does that mean auto fail, ebcause looking at that I am scoring nearly full on all the others

no it just means they keep a closer eye on you and think more about whether to pass you but i would say if you do a sub 10 mins run and a gym score of 4 points in 3 parts and a 6 in one then i would think that would be good enough what are all your scores at the minute and what are you doing for your training

but do not take my word for it, it all depends on the day and whether or not you give it your all that means you feel like you really *text deleted* give up but dont and do even better then you thought was possible then you can say i gave 100% no matter what happens.

Yeah, all my other scores are up near getting 6 marks, bar the beep test, which I haven't practiced yet. Last night I managed nearly 40 push-ups as well. Can’t wait to get down there!!

As long as I can do 40 press ups before I get there I'll be happy. Got my tickets today, another wave of excitment.

Ok these are my personal bests to the date.

9.17 for the 1.5 miler. I haven't attempted it in a while so tommorow I may get a new score.

20.45 for the 3.0 miler. I had a change of tactics for this run and it worked beautifully. Ok only a new pb by 15 seconds but still it all counts.

29.30 for the 4.0 miler. I think I done this run over a week ago and it was worse than this score. But I should attempt it next week.

47.29 for the 6.0 miler. Not done this run in nearly 2 weeks now. Not a run that can be enjoyed by any means.

For now I'm mainly just concentrating on 3 mile road runs and a bit of sprint training when I go to BMF. They make us push out 20 push ups and then make us sprint about 20 meters straight after.
