I would definitely recommend to people who are struggling with there fitness.
After a couple of weeks of doing the circuit I definitely improved on all aspects of my fitness.

hey mate, trying this fintain for a month and all i can say its amazing! Just a quick question though as you increase the reps each week and obviously it does get harder, when do you think when you stop rising the reps, like when you physically can't do it or if you struggle and just get a little breather?

All i can say amazing to build endurance for your body!

Mate it might be a good shout to reduce your time between sets. It will improve your recovery time as well as improving how long you can go for (endurance will go through the roof).

Did this for the first time today, started with 10 reps per exercise (started low to see what level I'm at) not nice but I think I could increase to 15 reps.
Took me just under 30 minutes, how long do you guys usually do the entire circuit in?

Just keep adding reps each week mate
With me I do 20 reps and have 1 min and 30 sec rest and it take me 9 mins on a good day to complete one set
This is the best circuit to use to improve your fitness

This needs to be renamed....."Death by circuits"
This sounds brutal! Can't wait to try it.

If i'm doing this on a football/rugby pitch, is it recommended i wear studs or shall i just wear trainers?

I used to do it on a football pitch in trainers. My view is that all the training I do is geared towards PRMC, and you definitely don't wear studs down there.

Mate, this is spot on! You wrote this just over 7 years ago and its still popular. I had my first go today, only did two sets mind, but I'm going to build it up week by week. I was nearly passed out on the floor after only two sets, well done to whoever thought this up.

I built up to 5 Fintan reps/laps over a two week period and was an absolute hangout, I was literally out of action, could not train with any sort of intensity, for 15 days after due to hamstrings being so tired & fatigued.

I calculated I had performed a total of 225 reps of squats, lunges & burpees during the session, and had been doing 60m sprints instead of 40m between each bodyweight set, then after the 5 rounds I did a few 15 meter duck walks/bunny hops followed by a 300m sprint as a finisher.

I still find it quite unsettling that it took over two weeks for my hamstrings to recover from the above.

p.s I agree this circuit is the best for increasing fitness. After my second Fintan circuit my BFT plateau of 10:10m finally broke and I smashed out a 9:30m finally!

Good effort mate but I'm pretty sure what you did was pull a muscle, not just fatigue it

You think? I would of thought a muscle pull would be acute pain whereas this just felt like fatigue, you know, heavy sluggish legs, opposite to the spring-chicken feeling you get when fully fresh & recovered.
