When & Where Was ‘Operation Haven’?

What is the range of a GPGM in light role?

Where Are The Royal Marines currently Serving Around TheWorld?

List The Rank Structure From Marine to WO1 In The Royal Marines?

Help Would Be Much Appreciated Lads :D

Cheers, Chris-Mac

Most of that stuff can be found on the official website or Wikipedia.

As for things like Operation Haven just type it into google.

the GPMG is used in 'sustained fire' (SF) mode. In SF mode, the GPMG, with a 2-man crew, lays down 750 rounds-per-minute at ranges up to 1800 meters.

UKSF, Paras and Royal Marines put the GPMG on their WMIK Land Rovers. The SAS have been known to have up to 3 GPMGs mounted on one vehicle. The 'beating zone' suppressed by multiple GPMGs is phenomenal.

Operation Haven was on the 17th April 1991 in Northern Iraq

The range of a GPMG in the light role is 800m

The royal marines are currently serving in Afghanistan.. not sure about anywhere else, i think bosnia and northern ireland.

Rank structure -
Marine
lance corporal
Corporal
Sergeant
Colour sergeant
Warrent officer class 2
Warrent officer class 1

Everyone keeps getting this one wrong. The Royal Marines are NOT CURRENTLY SERVING ANYWHERE OTHER THAN THE UK.

The Fleet protection is a slightly different matter but they are NOT IN AFGHANISTAN!

I spoke to my next door neighbour and he says he's not going until Jan? He went with 40 last time and has just been moved to 42, much to his annoyance *text deleted* he lives 30 mins from 40.

He is off sick at the mo due to an ass operation, maybe he's just missing a deployment, but he didn't mention one in sept and it's strange that there would be 2 so close together?

Cheers lads this has helped me as well. I've got all the example questions I've came across and answers, and RM Ethos, etc, saved on my laptop for revision :shakehands::smile:
