    Hi

So my 16 year old has been told to book a limited medical once he has his weight, BMI and waist circumference up. Which is great news. (He also has his formal interview booked in July).

In the mean time he has been invited to a fitness test day / event at Stonehouse Barracks. We do not know much about this other than his AFCO stated that this would be great prep for his PJFT.

Can anyone shed any further light on what to expect please. He has been told to wear sportswear / trainers and then a change of clothes for presentations.

    Thank you xxx

From memory this is as much an assessment rather than a test event after which candidates are given appropriate advice on how to best prepare for the forthcoming test elements.
But I'm not a Careers Adviser. @CHUB! or @The guide or @Ninja_Stoker are best placed to give you the heads up on what your lad should expect.

Yes you are spot on. He enjoyed himself so much that has even decided on a specialisation already after watching the presentation and talking to the guys. So the day was beep test, sit ups, press ups, pull ups and general chat about eating correctly etc and loads of banter. All followed by the presentation. He came out totally beaming and on cloud nine. Already saying that they will be running another one in Autumn and that he has told them he will be putting his name forward for that and all future one as he wishes to use them as bench marks. They advised him on the areas to concentrate on and any equipment that he could invest in eg pull up bar for the home.
