i *text deleted* we all say one step at a time , but i would just like to know could i specialise as this ? is it the same a reconaisaince operator?. and also the kinda stuff they do etc thanks

Hiya Mate!

Force Recon/Recon operator isnt actually an SQ or TQ as is done in house, as in each unit has its own recon section. Only found this out on the prmc lecture about SQ's & TQ's.
Trainings along the same lines as ML from what i believe, though just not as advanced or intense. A bonus to opting to go for recon is that you dont have to do you JNCO's course to be eligable to apply! Though obvisouly as JNCO you'll be better paid than the rank of marine.

yeh me aswell mate imi just wondering how you would go about it etc and what it involves do you work in small teams like 4 of you behind enemy lines etc? and sabotage and all tht stuff?..i know it sounds childish just if im going to be a rifleman i would want to be the best. and its always been somthing that stood out to me thanks for the replies

i *text deleted* do it as i was brigade surveillance in the army for my regt out in kosovo when i was on OP...and it was mint...

recce mate is simply getting forward and getting forward intell and info to hand back in its basic form..


you will hear peeps all the time say...ill go on recce and have a look.

not sure about the training for it in the marines....as i cant seem to find anything.


but that's the job im joining for....*text deleted*ing gives me a hard on!

*text deleted* you make me laugh i beleive there a difference there recon then theres force recon , but yeah i would be happy just being recon anything *text deleted* , do you reckon theres a long waiting list etc?

Yeah wouldn't mind doing it myself, I want to be an ML but as far as I'm aware Recon Op is the best way into it.

mmm not sure about the waiting list...

not many peeps *text deleted* specialise in some thing that involves a lot of hardship in the field....but i could be wrong....*text deleted* itsd hard graft.....but if it flicks your bean...as it does me it will be worth it.

ML has a very low pass rate...them guys are fooking awesome!

I want to be a Chef, the hardest course in any military, none has yet passed it.;....I will be that first person and wear my CF with wreath patch similar to the SBS/ML one...I will be a God among men 8)
