I thought I'd start a thread for good circuits,
I did a search and couldn't find much on good circuits,
and the information I did find was spread around a lot,
so I thought everyone could chip in and we all could benefit from it.

I'll start with one I found on this site (think it was anyway);

It's called the card circuit,
basically you get a deck of cards,
52, no jokers,
and then assign exercises to each suit,
I did;

Hearts - press ups

Diamonds - Burpees

Clubs - Crunches

Spades - Sit ups

But obviously you can change this for whatever you want to do.

Once you have done that,
you put the deck of cards face down,
and turn the cards over 1 by 1,
the suit on the card corresponds to an exercise,
and the number is the amount of repetitions,
so a 5 of hearts would be 5 press ups,
and then you just go through the whole deck,
or as many cards as you can.

Ways you could change it;

Put the jokers in the pack, and have them as say 10 of another exercise

Change the exercises of the suits each time

Do double the amount of repetitions for each one (don't expect to finish the circuit if you do this)

I had all Jacks, Queens and Kings as 10,
you could have them as 11, 12, and 13,
or have all royals as different exercises.

So there's mine,
anyone else?

I have a circuit that I do in the evenings made up of all the usual. I would post it up here, but the guy I got it from would rather I didn't.

I read this thread earlier today, and saw the card circuit.

I got through a whole pack of cards doing Marine pressups, Situps, Tricep dips and Knees to chest.

I'm seriously pleased I got throught it all, as my max. push ups is 30-40 but in that circuit the total was 96.

Fair play mate,
I just do normal press ups,
couldn't do that many marine ones.

And tricep dips burn.

To be honest mate, you're best off doing it Marine press ups, even if it only means doing half a pack.

Normal press ups really aren't going to help.

Yeh I know what you mean,
think I might switch to them,
just did it,
and did normal press ups,
but the Jack, Queen and King of hearts were all 10 marine press ups,
so next time I might try to do them all like that.

Yeah.

There really is no point doing the normal ones, well ... not on their own.

I suppose in a circuit WITH Marine press up, they're not going to do any harm, but there isn't an awful lot of point doing them.

The only way to improve them is to keep doing them.

I used to max out at about 20 Marine press ups, I asked Ash for advice and for the last few weeks, whenever I have had some spare time, even if its just 10 mins, I would knock out 10-15 press ups.

Keep doing this as often as possible, along with circuits etc and you'll soon find them very easy.

I'm now, two weeks later, maxing out at about 40.

Yeah I'm *text deleted* start doing them more often,
I'm stuck on 20 at the moment,
like you said I'll do them every so often,
when I get back from runs,
stuff like that.

I alternate between the RM bodyweight circuit and this, which you will have to do on a playing field, grassy knoll or in your garden if its big enough.

place a couple of markers approx 20m appart or use pitch markings etc.. starting at one end:
22 push ups, 20m shuttle run (like in the bleep test)
22 sit ups , 20m shuttle run
22 burpees , 20m shuttle run

20 push ups , 20m shuttle run
20 sit ups, 20m shuttle run
20 burpees, 20m shuttle run

18 push ups bla bla and so on, counting down 2 each time untill you get to 12. all push ups are marine style and it should be a fast run between markers. You can vary this to suit your abillity, start at 26 if this is to easy or if you struggle to do push ups start at 18 and when you get to 12, repeat it as many times as you like.
