My legs have always been my weak point. Although now they are the strongest they've ever been, they are what caved in 9 years ago when I failed my prmc. Having another crack 9 years on.

Can anyone offer some decent tips to build leg strength/endurance which will help on bottom field and endurance course?

Cheers

Hill sprints - or proper hill walking, not a gentle day out but a proper 20km day with hills in it and with the required safety kit , not some massive bergen and pushing the pace even up hill when legs are tired, even beach walking with a small bergen will do it.

but loads of variations you can try.

I agree with @The guide

When training for a marathon I used to swap my monotonous 20 mile long run for a day up on Dartmoor. Eight hours of running the downs and flats and fast walks on the ups paid untold dividends with my endurance and leg strength.

I just carried a day sack with some scran, water and safety equipment and thoroughly enjoyed the day, regardless of the weather.
