After 18 months of 'front support place', wet & dry and phys, I've finally got my lid.

This forum has been invaluable for me, so more than happy to answer any questions people might have about the RMR. Fire away.

Amazing mate, well done. How often during training were you close to wrapping if at all? and if you were what helped you keep pushing forward?

Hi mate, I was really lucky with my troop, as it was full of top blokes. We made a real effort to get to know each other outside of training, which meant that we were a much tighter group than most RMR troops, according to our training team. Because of that, the urge to wrap didn't last very long.

I just kept visualising the end goal throughout and knew that the other lads would help get me through (and vice versa).

Low points for me were getting injured as well as a couple of times during the depths of winter when I had to do wet and dry for the fourth time that night. A few of the yomps almost caused me to wrap too.

In the RMR you join a unit from the start mate. I'm part of RMR London.

    Congrats!

Would you mind doing a bit of a training diary of how your route to the green lid went - how often weekends were, what was involved on the weekends etc etc?

Ah sorry. Absolute privilege to be part of it. The worst bit is that you desperately want to sit down after doing 30 miles, but you have to stand there for what seems like hours while all the officers come round and speak to you.

For me though, the only times I felt myself getting teary, was when all the ex bootnecks were giving us encouragement during the march and congratualting us afterwards. It was really cool to have them all there and a massive morale boost.

Yeah, I'll try and do a bit of a summary mate, without giving too much of the game away .
