Hi i’m wondering what the view is on fully bald people in the marines and in SBS. Is it true you can’t get special forces selection if you are fully bald ?
I’m 17 going bald but planning to join marines in couple months, anyone help me with how it’s viewed

Thanks

Ross Kemp is a living example that baldness is unlikely to be an obstacle.

The biggest issue is that you'll probably still have to pay for an initial RT haircut along with everyone else.

I mean being bald as more, an appearance sort of issue with special forces.

And Ross Kemp was an SAS Sergeant ;)

1.You will save yourself quite a few beer tokens by not having to get a fortnightly haircut by the camp barber.

2. You won't get flanked for having overgrown hair on Drill inspections.

3. You can't get in the *text deleted* by having a haircut by a barber off camp.

4. It will give you added motivation to get your green lid so you can wear something to hide the baldiness.

5. You can buff your boots and your head at the same time.

Sounds like you are onto a winner!

However...get used to being called slaphead/baldy/jade goody.

Just embrace it. Cheerfulness in the face of adversity and all that.

Would you need to get permission from your TT or can you just crack on and keep it shaved?

Not all true what's posted above.

1) Any savings will be eaten up by the extra face wash you'll get through.

2) I've seen lads with full body alopecia flanked for having not shaved. The poor lad didn't even grow eyebrows!

Sounds like more benefits of being bald then having hair
