Hi, looking for some guidance in building my press-up number up. When it comes to the PRMC I want to be able to get 60, currently i'm struggling to hit 40.

Sit ups and pull ups I can do, I'm just struggling with the press ups.
    Thanks in advance.

Sounds stupid, but just do more. Bang out 20 when you’re boiling the kettle, every time you go to the bathroom. Just fit them in, get used to being in that position etc and they will come up.

No that doesn't sound stupid at all, makes sense! I'll start doing that and hopefully by the next couple of weeks I can do more.
    Cheers @SCOTTY6

You could try doing your press ups in sets to the bleep as well as what's suggested.
I.e do your 40 and then try do 2 sets of 5 or 10 just to get them in then in theory you should be able to bang out a lot more. This is helping me get my reps up. Good luck.

I am currently doing 50 to the bleep using sean Lerwills 'rest pause' method, there's also 'gainers' alot of people use.

Try to get some structure to your press up workouts, because if you are just smashing them out whenever you can, there is no consistency. With a plan you can look at it and see if you're over training or under training, or missing sessions.

The best thing which worked for me was the 'gainers' method.

If your target is 60, do say 3 sets of 25 press-ups. So this style -

    25 - 25 - 25

And then every day, up it by 1.

    26 - 25 - 25
    26 - 26 - 25
    26 - 26 - 26
    27 - 26 - 26

It just slowly eases your body into doing more press-ups.

If you've planned for your PRMC, you should have it nailed by the time you get to CTC :)

Weight vest 100%, I plateaued at 30/35 for a while. Just started using a 10kg vest and already seeing 40+ to the beep, aiming for a solid 60 by October/PRMC. This is where 6’6 and 95kg is a pain in the ar$e!

Think as many people have said, just do more and more till you can’t do no more. I found the bench press helped too but, at the end of the day? The best way to practise press ups is to do more until you’re at the standard
