Hi, my son is hoping to be a 2022 recruit. I know that's a while off but wondered if anyone knew if there will be a 'glut' of potential recruits then because lots have 'held back' to after covid times?thankyou, it's great this site exists. Especially for worried parents like myself.

Numbers applying have already increased, but that has simply pushed the processing time up slightly, if all went well ( no medical issues) and applicants got their finger out with paperwork they could get in service in about 4 months from point of application - my shortest recently with an applicant with no special circumstances was 57 active days before in service - timelines are now nudging 5-6 months, will this be the same in 2022 ?? hard to tell but certainly job prospects for the demographic we deal with have decreased and may take a while to get back to any level of normality. But the RM will always require manpower so even is a slightly longer timeline I can foresee no real issues.
