Improving 1.5 Miles

I am currently completing 1.5 miles in 13minuites im 2stone overweight go running at 6am im trying to lose the weight and improve my speed any tips on how to improve.

Hill sprints and interval training is the best way to improve your speed.
But you shouldn't be trying this until you've been running for at least 4 weeks.

Try doing some longer runs like 4 mile runs and only try the 1.5 miler once a week. Hill sprints will not only improve your speed but also improve your explosive stamina.

The longer runs will also help you drop some weight.

search my prior posts.

I posted a sprinting program which i followed and that i am still following which took me from 13min 1.5 mile run to a 9 min 1.5mile run in 4 weeks.

I trained really hard for it. I am not saying you will knock off 4 minutes in a month. but i would say at least 2mins.
