injury = cortisone?

I have been to see my GP today regarding an injury sustained through vigorous training for my preparation for my RT date on 15 dept, the injury is in my lower leg in part of the calf, I have been requested physio ASAP via my GP however, he said if the imflation of the muscle doesn't go down I may need a cortisone injection. I informed him that I took a sufficient period of time out of training in an attempt to heal it properly but it failed so my option now is physio if that fails the injection is the alternative. But I’m worried it may affect my entry into the marines.

Will the injection jeopardise my entry??

Personally Im against all cortisone shots. It's a steroid in the muscle that helps repair it, and stimulate it. I have heard from certain people that it can instead cause the muscle to break down and have problems. Im no doctor mate, just ask around before attempting it is all.
