    Hi
My son is in troop 299
I thought I would join this forum to see how other parents are getting on and read any news about what the recruits are doing etc. I really know very little about the marines and there are lots of abbreviations I'm trying to work out, I got as far as RT is recruit training. What is nod??!!

    Welcome @Golgibody

Lots of terms to learn! The guys in RT are called nods because they are always nodding off due to extreme fatigue

A nod is a Royal Marine Recruit. There's a dictionary of terms somewhere on here. They start using more of the lingo fairly quickly. I need to look stuff up all the time.
