Leave no stone unturned

Gentlemen,

Four years ago I applied to the Royal Marines.

After a long struggle I have just received the letter rejected my appeal upon medical grounds.

I have made real sacrifices to pursue this dream and believe that there is nothing left that I could do.

For this reason, I think I will never look back with regret.

If you're going to fail, fail properly. Never give up.

To all my friends and acquaintances on this forum, thank you for your support and banter over the years.

It's been hoofin'.

Sotiris.

They've rejected your appeal? After reading it, I'm quite surprised at that.

Does Sandhurst beckon?

No, I'm done with the idea of a career in the forces. It's time to really focus on civvy street.

Besides, Sandhurst would present the same argument against my knee.

Full steam ahead with BMF!
Admirable perseverence, it is unfortunate that it didn't go your way.

You did however explore every avenue and can find some solace in such. Good to see you're cracking on and moving on with things instead of feeling sorry for yourself, as many would!

All the best.

Sorry to hear this Sotiris. At least you tried everything in your power so, as you say, won't be able to look back wishing you'd done things differently.
Wherever civvy street takes you, I've no doubt you'll be a success.

Farewell (or are you sticking around for the banter?)

Sorry bud...

But I dare say you've learnt a fair bit about yourself from it all.

Best of luck to you.

Still keen to take you up on that free BMF session for overseas applicants ;)

Even though I don't like you, I know you're the type of person who will end up doing well in whatever they do. So with that in mind, I will not wish you the best of luck, but instead, I'll say ''go get them tiger, hehe''.

Gutted to hear this Sotiris, but good to see you've got your head screwed on and are looking at other avenues. Good luck wherever you go.

For the record, Gates of Fire was awesome!
