Life experience_officer entry

I am currently in the process of appling as a Royal Marine Officer. I have heard many people say that you need "life experience" to get accepted, if i managed to get that far what sort of things should i be doing to get life experience?
I have just finished my A-Levels and have the required ucas points, and i've only just turned 19. Any help Much appreciated

There's loads of things you could do, some are as follows: Camp America, Princes Trust, Duke of Edinburgh Awards, independant travelling overseas, voluntary work, assisting with Uniform Youth Organisations (ATC,ACF,SCC, CCF, Scouts etc.,), charity fundraising work, full time or part-time job, join clubs, societies etc.,

I'm doing duke of Edinburgh gold, great fun, you should definitely look into that.
