What does a week as a troop commander look like in terms of hours on base/at home (this is a family/girlfriend based query).

Would you live on base Monday - Friday and then have weekends off? Or work a 7am-8pm type day all week and be able to be at home in the evenings? Or is it a case of being on call all days of the week until your leave period?

I understand that specialist roles such as FCT/RMBT/SF would take up more time during a week so ignore them, my query is for the most part pertaining to a GD troop commander, and if possible also a YO batchmate?

(Sorry if this is a naive question..)

I will answer in a bit, someone should provide a link to previous topics, but weekends aren't a given. Technically you aren't entitled to weekenders leave but most of the time you get it.

Will add more later. Just letting you know your post has been seen!
