First post. :applaus:

It's been my ambition for a long time to join up, going in as an officer. My only worry is prescription medication. It's lansoprazole so, pretty standard stuff. But the thing is I seldom take it. The last batch I ordered, which lasts a month, was before Christmas and I still have more than half left.
I understand it's the decision of the medical officer, but has anyone else had a similar problem, with an outcome.

Thankyou.

I think it's likely they would be more interested in the why you take it mate.

It's for heartburn/acid reflux. It doesn't cause me problems unless I drink heavily or eat allot at night which are two things I can (should) kick out my diet completely. I'll go to AFCO. I'm not ready to apply yet, so if they ask me to be off the medication for a certain amount of time I think that would be fine.

The rough rule of thumb is that in order to be passed fit at the medical examination all applicants must be entirely free from prescription medicine. Timescales vary depending on the condition & the medication.
