    Hi all, just wanted to ask what are some of the pros / good points about fathers who join the forces and any experience any of you have, have read thro bad bits obviously the time spent away from family etc but not much on any positives

    Stable income for your family, access to forces help to buy scheme. Married quarters, welfare services for family use. Discounts for family day outs.
    Access to gym/swimming for family.

    Just a few off the top of my head

    Get you home pay. Pride. Housing married which has now changed to unmarried longterm with children.

    Well for starters, the pride your child will feel when asked what their Dad does for a living and they reply; "Royal Marines Commando!"

    Can you imagine the shame if they had to reply with; "RAF Regiment!":):):)
