I went out for a 1 mile run at a comfortable pace since i'm a beginner to this running business this morning. But i'm running at the slowest pace i could possibly run at yet my feet particularly around the metatarsals were killing me and everywhere in my legs thighs, calves, hamstrings everything was just killing me. This was supposed to be simple running 1 mile at slowest pace possible! Help!

What sort of shoes are you using?

When you say slowest pace possible, is it really? I know loads of people that say they go as slow as possible then when I run with them they cannot pace themselves at all.

Thanks for the responses guys. As for the shoes i was running in nike air max trainers i figured because they felt comfortable and had more protection than my other trainers which have no protection really. So Asics here i come.
