Hi all:

When I sat my Recruit Test that I had a "1980s RAF moustache" (wondering what it is? *text deleted*); and I did not think to ask what the R.M.R's take on them is.

When after I get attested, will the tach have to go?

Ha -nailbiting--nailbiting-
I am afraid it is *text deleted*.

When I turned up for my R.T., first thing the chap said, when he checked my documents was: "Ah. You've got a 1980s RAF moustache"

Laughed like a drain but now, can see that is indeed what my top lip fur is

Moustaches are allowed in the Marines mate. Should be alright. Especially for RMR.

Usually get 14 days from asking to show it is of good standing. But if you have already got an established one and it’s RMR I can’t see it being a problem.

Thank you, mate. Have had it for around 2 years, or so. So pleased I can keep it

Thanks for that.

I know the army lads (as well as the RAF lads) at AFCO were looking in awe at the top lip fur (either that, or utter contempt and disgust!)

Was also told that my name sounds "suits the moustache" whatever that was suppose to mean? *text deleted*!

Funnily enough, in the 1970s and 1980s many Parachute Regiment and Royal Marines personnel sported moustaches. A fuller style than that favoured by Crab Air.
Often described as a “Porn star tache”, whatever that was!;););)

I kid you not!! I have seen with my own very eyes, several Bootnecks sporting this style of moustache!! And I'm also told on good authority, that smoking a pipe is popular too.

Ha

I’m going to ask my det if I can style mine like that. Perhaps complete the look with a bald head or something like that
