Right, well I know there's already a music one on here...but this is a little different, if anyone is like me...I've got what I like to listen to for just listening but what do you like to train to.....I keep seeing threads with "I just listen to my ipod and zone out when I train"

So whats everyones fav music tracks to run to etc.

Sadly...and I bow my head in shame, I like some good ole hard core trance to run to.....not nose bleed hard  ...but pretty quick. Although probably one of my fav's is Mia Salva by Faithless..the 11min version.

And yes, for anyones thats counting...I'm bored at work today, hence the number of posts I'm writing :*text deleted*:

Mate agree with evrything.... especially the being bored at work part! *text deleted* would go insane without use of the internet!!

Like some rap and r'n'b stuff too. Bit of 50 cent, The Game, Eminem that type of thing. My girlfriend likes the "Head Kandi" (think that's how you spell it) stuff, so got a bit of that on the i-pod too!

I listen to the exact same things when i do my upper body :P
I don't listen to music when running for two reasons, 1. I think it will break my concentration. 2. I don't have an mp3 player XD.

believe it or not i dont listen to music when i run! at first it was because no matter what headphones i have used none have stayed in my ears! after not bothering with music i started to concentrate on getting a breathing pattern, then i started to drift off and not even think about the run which helps me to push, i find it better personally just to be thinking to myself in peace rather than having drum and bass booming in me ears like i use to!

Not boring me, all that music is great, besides TOOL and clutch, not a huge fan. All the rest is great though. Add some shadows fall, Trivium, and my new fave band Gojira. If you got a chance, download the song Backbone, or Heaviest Matter of the Universe buddy, crazy heavy / good songs, both by Gojira. When the music gets heavy, it just drives me to run faster, and work through the pain.

I have to admit...listening to you guys talk...i've not heard of half the groups you're talking about....I hope to god its not an age thing :*text deleted*:

I always think I run slower without music...maybe I'll give it a go this weekend without and see what the difference is......I might hear the cars coming towards me a bit easier! Could be useful.

My personal favourite is Micheal Bolton!! :*text deleted*: :*text deleted*:

Only joking!

When im out on the road I listen to Eminem, G'N'R, ACDC, some hard house, Tupac, Rocky soundtrack.. Anything really to get the blood pumping and to channel the passion inside to keep pushing.

Although the weird thing is I don't really use it or need it in the same way when I run through the woods or cross country.

Weird..... :?

I know what your saying there it is like you run down the road you see a lamp post then another then another then another and surprise, surprise another who would of thought aye . But when running scenic style music doesn't really need to be there (i mean you need to be able to hear the person that is going to stab you or worse rape you  ).
I don't usually use music to train upperbody strength either for some reason just never tried it.
But for when i do on those beautiful roads  i listen to rocky soundtrack, blah blah.
The most obvious a good old porn soundtrack  :? :*text deleted*:  :!:

You guys are probly going to think im weird for this, but this is a soundtrack from 'Halo: Combat Evolved' it's a Game on Xbox incase some don't know. It's not very long so when im running and it comes on i speed up my pace for the time it lasts and it sounds really good through headphones because it uses stereo effect.

I don't just listento this, i listen to stuff like Oasis, Jimi Hendrix and old style punk music.

I'm not a fan of dance music but there is htis one track that seems to make me run faster

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCYST35gSvU

I don't always run with music though, i figured not to rely on it because i wont have it on runs and yomps during RT.

i am in exactly the same situation as you mate. i never had headphones for a while and i prefer running with no music and simply turning off while i run

This might not be the kinda music everyone here listens too, but the video is kick ass. Not really anti-war, but anti-bush, but oh well. Also Im in love with the lead singer Otep and her insane voice.

Heres the Vid - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfLnDUPmP4s

Well in the video it translates everything shes saying in words flying across the screen or up on posters in the video. Im not big on Anti war songs either, but my fave band Machine Head just did an entire album on it called The Blackening. It was kind of a let down, since I didn't know they were so anti war.
