Hello, I'm new here.

I have been training for about 4 months.

I currently live in the US, moving over on the 14th Dec and have my test on the 20th of December.

Can't wait to get over there, get some more training in and join up!!

Hi Jamie,

Good to hear from guys over your side of the pond.

How's your training going bud?

Are you over hear for your tests or staying a while.

All the best and welcome

I'm moving back completely.

I am not a US citizen, but I was going to join the US Marines. Found out they're gash and decided to join the RM.

I have a friend that's already in and has been for 4 or 5 years now. I'm 22.

Training is going very well. Currently my stats are:

50 - 70 press ups (depends on the day E.G fluids and food etc)
70 situps
10 pullups

I really need to get my running times down. I had shin splints about 2 months ago and im still trying to get to grips with running again.

Welcome to the site Jamie & good luck with the selection process.

The main difference between USMC & Royal Marines is that you will frequently see huge, bulked-up & muscular US Marines, but seldom the same for Royal Marines in Recruit Training.

The issue is Cardio Vascular - the ability to run long distances & sprint short distances together with agility as opposed to to strength & muscle mass. In other words, you need to run, not lift weights.

Good luck!

Thank you very much for the kind words.

I was slightly nervous about joining (yet, extremely excited).
But now I know there's a lot of people that are in the same boat, i don't feel as bad.

I'll probably be meeting some of you quite soon.

Good luck to all that are leaving to start training on Monday.
