I hope so. He has stopped a good career to do this.
Oh really, what was he doing? What changed his mind?
He always wanted to join marines but we felt he was too young. He’d been studying marine engineering with the merchant navy. Heart wasn’t in it after 2 years so we said apply as he may not pass but here we are all ready to start.
Ah right. So I take it you are used to him being away already then?
Not at all. Dreading not having him hear.
Only a week to go, where has that time gone. How’s he feeling? How’s his fitness?
Can I be added to the P&P sub-thread too? My Scot is also starting the 21st
Welcome @proud-frog look forward to taking the journey with you. Please be careful putting your sons name on here. See you on Troop 289 forum.
Thanks! He's not named Scot, he's Scottish and my partner. I reckon I could have been more clear
*text deleted* I realised after he was your partner. Are you prepared for the journey? How’s his fitness levels? Do you mind me asking how old he is? My son is 20
hi proud-frog. My son is joining and is Scottish. How is he travel going down?
All done for you. Please introduce yourself to the other P&Ps on there.
I think I'm prepared but not getting a lot of info so maybe not enough He's been training a lot, I think he will be OK - also I prefer to be convinced he will- as he did very good at prmc.
Moreover he's very much looking forward to the team spirit and bonding with the others in such a hard work context, which is definitely something that will help him go through the day.
Hi! he's going by plane.
Brilliant. Is he travelling from Scotland? If there is anything I can help you with please ask away. You will get lots of support on here and don’t worry about asking loads of questions. If you prepare yourself for no/very little contact for the first 2 weeks in foundation.
Thank you! He warned me they might not get access to their phone the first month, so I'm prepared to keep myself busy
Pardon my french (I usually get away with this excuse) but do you mean introducing here in this thread or on a general P&P subforum that I don't find? Must say I'm not used to forums. Cheers!
how old is your son if I may ask?
If you put in the search section 289 Troop you will find I have tagged you and you have been added
