Hi all,

Wondering how possible it is to be posted to 30 Cdo after the year as Tp Commander. Does the Foreman of Signals course lead into a position in 30 Cdo? With Y Squadron in particular - does anyone know if there are Officer roles there?

There are officer roles in very Unit, including 30 Cdo. As it is a specialist unit, I expect that the drafts there will reflect the job that they do.

Thanks for both these replies, good to know.

Foreman of Signals + Information Systems is advertised as one of the three Officer specialisations in the careers booklet posted in this thread: https://www.royalmarines.uk/threads/officer-unit-allocation-specialisation.112775/post-655046 . Could be just an error; the text below reads 'Signals Officers specialise in...' which sounds like Signals Officer and Foreman of Signals are distinct roles and, as @The guide points out, FoS is usually an NCO role.

Signals is one of the few roles specific for Officers- Forman and Yeoman are "normally" C/Sgt or WO roles on occasion you may get a Forman that is an officer ..so as above it is a internal role within Signals itself, but you normally stay a that sub specialist as the course is very niche!
