On leave/phys/boredom - good idea?

    Hi guys,

    Got a weeks leave at the moment and me and a mate were having a discussion to combat boredom and keep on top of phys, we came up with this idea and I’m not sure if it’s a good idea or not, so here goes...

    Starting from 1000 until 1600, every hour on the hour run a short distance, (I’ve got a 0.75 loop around where I live), followed by a max set of press/sit/pull ups.

    Any ideas/comebacks/suggestions on this?

    Yes. Don't do it. Leave is leave. Back in the day my leave routine was along the lines of:

    Starting from 1000 until 1600, every hour on the hour, ensure that I had drunk enough to ensure I could safely 'walk' the short distance to the next bar. Followed by a max set of slurred conversation with a totally unsuitable but apparently beautiful young woman. Who would always vanish after emptying my wallet.

    I might be a lightweight but I can assure you that none of the young women I referenced above were.

    Relax on leave. Do phys but maybe 3 times in the week if you do phys everyday at battalion enjoy the no impact for couple days

    Seriously though, pi$$ taking aside.

    Good on you for keeping up the phys. For many phys IS a form of relaxing and a way to clear the mind.

    That being said, don’t be afraid to use your leave as an opportunity to do something completely different to your daily routine. You need to get away from the block. Switch your mind off from your unit and chill. We all need a healthy work/life balance, especially in the mob.
    Decent downtime replenishes the brain’s stores of attention and motivation. You need to replenish your mental energy as well as your body. It all adds up mate.
