I was made medically unfit due to wearing insoles, after an appeal it’s been over turned. I wear off the shelf insoles, recommenced by a specialist, when I get to recruit training will I be able to wear these?

Yes, as long as you can wear service issue, unmodified footwear.

Be aware however that in doing so, you are effectively declaring a pre-existing issue which could result in NFA Med discharge if you incur related injuries in the first 56 days of recruit training.

Apparently too many people weren’t applying because they looked at the JSP950 and thought they would be medically unfit when in reality it would have been fine. So now it isn’t allowed to be released publicly apparently.

    Really? :D

It may well be the case that the medical authorities may not like
it in the public domain but the law says otherwise.

Just the standard sadism that occurs from time to time.

We weren’t allowed to use the washing machines, apart from for bedding (itchy scratchy blankets, not duvets) until week 10.

Hence every night there would be fights as you had 30 stressed out, sleep deprived lads trying to wash all their kit and clothing in the 4 or 6 sinks.

    Why tho?...

That's good to hear, because I recently found out I was flat footed and might need insoles. Thanks for the information.
