i have been doing some searching on the forum and i found this post by someone...

2.4km in 10 minutes.

6 lots of 10 minutes in one hour (6x10 = 60 minutes)

2.4 x 6 = 14.4

= 14.4km/hr

So you need to be running faster than 14.4km/hr in order to reach 2.4km in under 10 minutes. So set that treadmill speed!

Is he correct? i'm going to try it in the gym tonight so i want to know if it's accurate.

thanks,
Marco

Yea that is right. It means if you set the speed at 14.5 and dont drop below it at any point you will pass.

I set mine at 15.2, then after about 7 mins set it to 16.2, then ran the last 30 seconds on 18.5.
I got 9.28
You have to remember that when the time starts, so does the treadmill, so it takes about 7 seconds to get up to speed but the clock is ticking!

The maths is ok however tredmills are pretty inaccurate and take time to get up to speed so the easiest thing to do it just stick it on 16 kph and you'll get a time around 9 minutes.

if your doing it at fitness first, their treadmills now time you straight away as if you are doing 14.4 (or whatever you set it at) so you dont need to account for the treadmill speeding up anymore, but id aim for under 9.40 to not stick out at PRMC

Should be aiming for as good a time as possible, its only <10 mins of effort, why not? Better score you have the more confident the AFCO will be in your abilities.

I ran at 15kph, then at 8 mins i put it up to 16kph, then in the last min i put it up again to 17kph. this gave me a time of 9.32. I think I could of got a lower time if I knew better when to put the speed up on the treadmill

yea i agree! i wasnt hanging out at all after i did 9.39, so make sure you get alot of practice in and find out how fast you can actually go! and when to put it up etc

Easiest way is 1.6 x how every many MPH as there are 1.6km to every mile.

Eg, 1.6*9 = 14.4kph

Havn't blasted myself on a treadmill recently but last time was around ten mins with 2 percent incline.

Asked my marine friend what he got in his pjft and he said 7:45 and the gym he was in was hot as hell so he was almost dead at the end, i thought he was *text deleted* say something like 9 mins, but he said just hammer it out. Like its been said its only <10 mins of pain, the quicker you run it the quicker its over
