PJFT tomorrow and do you know what i' e done? I've strained an intercostal muscle in my chest, right next to my sternum behind my left pec. So now I get a slight-moderate pain when I inhale. And I did it last night while foam rolling.

No way i'm phoning up my RO to tell him I can't do the run. I'm not confident about passing first time anyway, but just added to the difficulty. Its going to be hell and i'm guessing i'm going to have to constsntly remind myself i'm not having a cardiac arrest.

If it's a slight pain you'll be right. Have you ran the return with it yet? If not you won't know if it gets worse or if it stays the same as the intensity gets higher.

    Good luck.

Got my PJFT at the end of this month,I'm training 6 days a week which includes boxing regularly as I compete in an amateur boxing tournament soon,I'm doing a lot of work on the treadmill as well as outside but the treadmill I'm training in has different levels compared to the treadmill I'll use for my PJFT,for example running at level 7.5 on the first run gets me in time nicely, the second run I do at level 9 which gets me just under the 10 minute mark, anybody know the treadmill times for the one we use for the test that will get me in at similar times?

I got told 11.7 and 14.6.. I passed my pjft yesterday an just buzzing I won't have to use a treadmill again. 15.2 got me in at 9.43! Not the best time but a pass is a pass!

its harder when your there on a treadmill with no music face up against a wall, just good to get it out the way

Really try and focus your runs outside as it will help on a treadmill with no wind and weather resistance which you will become one with! Also, the gradient is fixed and really helps unlike the ever changing outdoors. I changed my training to just outside running then did my PJFT mock on a treadmill and found it a lot easier!

I did the opposite for 5 months (PJFT 3x a week, no outdoor running at all)
Let's just say it did me no favors.
Not so long ago I've decided to get back on road I'm 1min off my PB on treadmill... So definitely keep outside guys, maybe 1 PJFT a week or every 2 weeks.

15.2 surely should get you around 9:30? Might of been a slower treadmill

Saddleworth? I did mine there and in my opinion it's no different from any other treadmill you'll run on
