    Hi all,

I was just wondering if anybody had the POC dates for the coming 19 batch? My inclination is that they will take a similar pattern to previous years but any info would be great.

    Cheers, Phoenix.

Anyone got any gen on this?

Also, does anyone know the amount of candidates that passed POC and AIB for the YO18 batch, but did not make it onto the batch and may be applying again?

I imagine @Ninja_Stoker is the man for this one :)

I'll try to find out for certain but I think there was something like 85 POC/AIB passes with twenty-odd going forward for the 2019 entry.

How many places would that leave for that intake?

All places are still up for grabs (usually around 50 +/- 10). Those that fail to get on one batch have to start the process again the following year. Do not worry, '20 odd' places have not been allocated to 2018 applicants who missed the cut.

Okay thanks, is there anything specific which an applicant can do to stand out?

Unfortunately not, there's usually one or two a month from January onwards. My advice is always go for the first available as the final POCs in May/June are usually rammed, over-subscribed and leave no room to manoeuvre if failed.

    Thanks Ninja,

I’ve got my SIFT on Tuesday, do you reckon it’s possible that they would book a POC for December?

If you are ready, a December POC is certainly feasible.

My AFCO has bid for me to go on a March 10th POC. My CD was in November, does anyone know the chances of getting on that one? Would like to know to help plan the training weeks leading up to it. Cheers.

Hi mate, I had my CD in December, and I'm booked in for the 10th March POC, so hopefully you'll be able to get on it unless it's full already.
    Hope that helps.

Cheers for that. It must be full now but I do have a date now for the following month. 28th of April. Hows the prep going?

Cheers yeah going good, I was told I would be put forward for a January POC so got ready for then and obviously backed off a bit when I found out that wasn't happening so now got a good 12 weeks to really push it.

Yeah that's fair enough, we've got plenty of time to get ourselves in the best possible shape.

I've decided to. I got some altberg tabbing boots which feel great for running in and have worn in nicely. Obviously it's still boots your running in but they are so light and soft a leather they're barely noticeable! Best to keep to what you know.
