Don’t think the swim test is a pass or fail exercise, they’re looking at your swimming ability. Jump off the high board, 2 lengths of the pool and receive a brick from the deep end of the pool

That's not bad then but I was told by an ex PTI that we'll all have the opportunity to try a real swim test after with full kit and a rubber rifle

That’s news to me, think we have to swim in combat gear though.

Good for you. Remember give it everything you’ve got and then give it some more. CTC is an amazing place, try and soak up the atmosphere and listen to EVERYTHING you are told then just do it! Simple really :D
For those that have not been to Uni , not a problem but if you can I would advise you to familiar yourselves with different referencing styles for essay writing e.g Harvard etc. Not necessary for POC but for when you start training.
Above all else be yourself and not the man you think they want to see

The very best wishes to all of you.

Just to echo one of the comments by @TheRents each year's YO Batch is issued a reading list prior to the September start date.
One book which has previously cropped up several times:

There's a few diaries from POCs last year which will shed light on the swim and other parts of the course, have a read, its tough but fun and rewarding.....Best of luck !
