    Good evening all,

I'm intending to join up in two years, I've got a Commonwealth and an Irish citizenship to go off of. I'm aware that on the RN site it says commonwealth citizens may apply to become officers, but I'm wonder how much of a practical reality this is.

With the limited spaces available on the yearly intakes, what is the practical reality of getting through to POC as a foreigner on either of those citizenships?

    Thanks for any input.

I would imagine exactly the same as any other candidate. The competition for RM officer is extremely fierce, with many hurdles to jump through, but if the process allows Commonwealth citizens to apply then they'll be in exactly the same boat as every other candidate.

It just means that you will have to work extremely hard and excel in all areas to make the September start date.

    Good luck
