With effect from today, all RM Officer candidates who pass POC & either fail AIB or pass AIB and are not selected are now awarded an automatic "PRMC Pass", should they wish to join as RM Other Ranks and commence Recruit Training within 12 months of the POC pass.

Be aware, these candidates, regardless of Sift Interview & AIB results will STILL need to pass the Other Rank Competency -based interview prior to entry.

This is good news, I always felt for the lads who failed AIB with a POC pass and had to start the whole process again for other rank

It always used to be the case, but it stopped in recent years because someone felt it wasn't "aligned". Spookily, nothing's changed with regard respective course "alignment" but it's reverted to the application of common sense.

One can only assume the tit that changed it has either left the service or moved elsewhere within it.
