Possible Site Upgrade

Guys if you feel this site is missing some functions and can improve a little, there is a site out there http://www.phpbbhacks.com/ that has optional extras and add ons to sites like ours.

Anyway if you want to have a look through it and if you see anything you think could be of benefit to us, just flag it up and we'll take a look at implementing it.

I for one enjoy seeing pictures of serving Royals in action as well as recruits in training.
It would be nice to have a section full of these resources as it'd be nice to have some to look at and spur you on with training.

Im with Paddlequack , a picture section would be really nice. Then we can upload whatever there. Perhaps have a section for member bios, and why you *text deleted* join. It might help us get to know eachother a bit more, and understand some of the best reasons to join the Marines.

Not sure if a picture section could easily be incorporated into this site format if I'm being honest with you guys.

But I will have alook into it and discuss it with the powers that be and should be able to come up with something

Why not create a photobucket account/youtube account and link everything through a topic (Media/Images?)
Anyone who say wants to upload things give them to you and you can whack em on there?

I know its would be a bit like MFAT but a section for like books, or videos etc, cause there is a few books out there like the commando circuit training book a,d this book im reading *text deleted* which is called "Royal Marines Commandos The inside story of the force for the future" so for i have only read the first chapter and that gives so much much information on the history of the marines, o and it has a few pictures :P all of about 4 though :shock: good book so far though.

A sectoin for RMR would be good, there are several lads on here that are going for RMR instead of full time and it would be nice to have a localised place for specific info rather than having to trawl through 100's of posts.

o.k guys I might have the instant messaging one covered, although it'll take a few days.

As for the rest keep them coming and I'll put them to everyone to decide on the ones to use.

If we close the ideas side of things on Friday at midnight, so keep the ideas coming till then and then I'll set about building them in one we've decided which ones will benefit the site.
