Alrite lads,

as you know im in the RN and one of my mates just left for SBS selection 8) , he gave me this challenge to do for press ups.

if you can be bothered to do it for an hour or 2 or 3 etc than Crack on.

basically you do 10 press ups every minute for an hour.
every time a new minute begins bang out ten then wait for the next minute then bang out ten...obviously stand or kneel between sets or you'll die quite quickly.

that equals to 600 press ups an hour so if you do that twice a day you'll be doing 1200 a day.

i did it for an hour.......it was an emotional hour to say least.

try it....

Did you regret it once you realised thats an hour of your life which your never going to get back!? :P just kidding, good effort might give it a go if i get a chance!

Will doing this a few times a week increase your max reps by much? I guess this the extreme version of the little and often technique :D

Could only manage 21 minutes :O Still thats 210 press-ups :)

Haha, I'm going to try that now. Cba to go gym, so I'll do this.
So, does it increase you amount of reps?
I could play FIFA inbetween the press-ups. At least England can win on that...

To be honest lads i dont know whether it increases your max or not? :eek:ops:
it must do some good i suppose.

im now part way through trying this its a little bit boring though *text deleted* :roll:
...... and even after 30 mins it doesnt get any more exciting :arrow:

finished on 62 mins, 620 press ups 8)

Could only manage 37 mins. I tell you what though I think it knackers your wrists after a while.

this is wicked. i really like the press ups thing pretty damn good training. cheers for the idea mate.

Hear is another chalange, More pressups in less time its called, 10 - 1

You need a partner

You do 10 press ups and your rest time is the time it take him to do ten then you do 9 and rest wile he dose 9 all the way down to 1

It ends up at 55 press-ups in around 8mins

Very hard work tho

Lord_Carl, I use to do this with my dad every morning. It is really good, and fun.

more press ups in less time :? if its 55 in 8 minutes thats not less time with the other way u would do 90 in 8 minutes

My mistake i read it wrong *text deleted* Id say its more of a chalange tho as you have less time to recover your arms

but you don't really need any/much recovery time after doing 10 pushes. especially if your only max-ing 55.

what i'm doing everyday now, is;
10 push-ups (2 sets)
-30 second break-
15 sits (2 set)

etc etc...

for about 45 mins.

with my girlfriend helping, ie. holding feet, keeping knees together, making sure I do pushes properly, and if i dont complete, i get punished by her.
its a motive. ;)
