I've just been talking about this in another thread and thought it was worth making a subject out of it.

Make a list of all the branches of the forces you'd join in priority? If not the forces then what civvy jobs would you lads be happy with?

RMC
Sandhurst then somewhere...
Paras
Greek Commandos (frogs)
French Foriegn Legion (haha!)
Royal Engineers

Why's everyone so keen on the RAF Reg?

My list would be:
Royal Women's Balloon Corps.
RMC.
Paras.
The Rifles.
Any infantry bat.
Navy - clearance diver or some such.
The Navy rejects.
Fire Brigade.
The Filth.

they're hardcore in so much as physically tough, you're guaranteed to see action and get to learn french, and you get a 2nd id, some join so they can get entrance to EU. Personally i'd rather they did that than climbed into the back of an HGV.
I wouldn't want to join myself,if for no other reason than they're french...*text deleted*. But i can see they are a decent regiment (?).

i just cant see the good points....

you have to change your name...
have to fight for the french...
have to learn french fast or get beaten...
the french dont give a *text deleted**text deleted* about them...
bullying theft etc is rife....
you hardly (if ever) get to go home...
cant imagine the other recruits being from "good stocks" shall we say aslyum seekers, scumbags etc...

and i wouldnt join because thats all i *text deleted* about them...

and i bet alot of people dont *text deleted* a massive amount about what they do, just want to put it in their list "*text deleted* it sounds hardcore innit".

If I cant be a Royal Marine they'll be nothing else for me in this life so I'd might as well shoot myself in the head

I would imagine that real scumbags just wouldn't make it through the training. They have a very high drop out or desertion rate.
