I'd say it's worth giving them a ring at the 6 months point when you're 100% certain you can breeze the 3 mile run and gym tests. I was given 12 months but my CA said if I re take my PJFT in 6 months time and absolutely smash it he'll try and get me back to CTC sooner

Yeah my CA told me to phone in 6 months to book another PRMC for around March, I was fine in the BFT came 19th out of 30 around 9:45 if I guess, did 12.1 on the bleep! Just my upper body strength was not great and it didn't help that I screwed up my push ups. I've got near enough a year to train hard and to be honest if I fail again then I'm really kidding myself on!

Yeah I think you should be ready in 6 months mate, a year is a tad harsh to wait - I think it's the AFCO that decides when you get another go! PJFT should be no problem, get that done mate and show them who's boss! ;)

All I can say for this is prepare correctly. Yes the course is harder than you think however you know exactly what you have to do before you get down there. Prepare correctly and relevant to that and just give a little extra. Simple.

@ArchieGrimm na man, I thought that too, the Sgt Major had a quick talk with us all but not one to one. Yeah it will better get my backside in gear!

@Ronald13 Yeah mate correct there, it's very tough! At least now I have an idea of what to expect.

@CannyWait Well done on the pass mate!

I think he does because he's a drill instructor.

On mine we took longer because we were marched into the drill shed and had to pack a load of helmets into a van. o_O
